I have to admit, Math is not my best subject, but I'm able to work with it and learn more and more each year. Math changes each year, a new thing each year, I learn more. I have, sometimes, used math outside the classroom, usually when shopping at the market or bookstore, to see how many books I can buy that day; also when decorating my room, calculating how big it is and what kind and size of furniture will fit inside. Another way I use math is when writing my books, how many pages I have used in the computer, how big is the page going to be once actually printed, and how many pages is the book going to be.
PORTFOLIOSIn this portfolio we showed our work done when learning quadratics, we showed our homework assigments and work done in class, what we learned and how we know we actually learned how to graph and do equations. This had to be a pretty fun one because we learned through playing cards. Basically we were learning how to predict a certain result out of something, such as gambling.Similarity was a pretty hard one for me, since sometimes I confused the equations and had to learn new formulas to solve something. We had to prove how two shapes are similar to each other and how to prove it.

CASINO NIGHT
This is the roulette table that me and my team created for the casino for our similarity project. We were the builders.
REFLECTION
My strengths during this year was mostly my knowledge in formulas and equations, and I had a little trouble with similarity problems, but once I got a grip of the formulas things got easier from then on.
I would like to try again at building the roulette table, I feel that we could have done something a bit more... fancy? I think that's a good word to describe it.
I'm always pushing myself to new limits, and learn more, but sometimes I just shy away and don't ask questions, and I should really work on that.
One of my favorite moments was the Casino Night, because I was walking around, making sure that chips kept flowing, I was able to see how everyone was having fun and a good time. One memory I didn't like much was when I saw the brochure for the games and casino, small detail, but I notice how everyone but the builders were given acknowledge and that kind of made me feel a little bit left out, and I could tell that some of the other builders were also a little bit irked about this.
I have become less shy about speaking in class, and I raise my hand more often to answer a question or ask a question, so I guess I have grown a little bit out of my comfort zone and I believe that is pretty good.
